Our policies around personal data and what we do with it are here

It's important to keep track of your data and who has it, we don't do much in the way of data collecting but here is a brief description of what data we collect and what we do with it.

Personal information

The only time we collect personally identifiable information is during the order process, when you order something we'll want to collect your name, address, phone number, and other information necessary to verify your identity and be able to bill you correctly.

We'll also use this information to send you service notifications about important maintenance work that impacts your service, and if you don't mind, we may also send you very occasional promotional emails about special offers that we think you might be interested in. We don't send many though, because we know how annoying lots of promotional emails can get.

If you contact us about a sales query, we may also save this information and send you the odd promotional email now and then to see if you're interested in products or services from us, again, we don't send many because we know they can get annoying.

If you don't want us to send promotional information just let us know, although you can't opt out of service related emails (or billing obviously!).

We use cookies (a small data file not the tasty baked goods namesake) to make our website work, they are used to track your login information and keep track of your basket. They're pretty important and the website won't work without them.

We also use cookies to track your activity on our website, and we'll then use that information to display relevant advertising materials to you as you browse other websites on the internet, for example if you viewed some of our server products we might then market server products to you for a little while so you don't forget about us. We do this using Google Adwords, you can control your Google advertising preferences via the Google website. The advertising cookies aren't personally identifiable so we don't know specific information about you, and we aren't able to tally this information with our billing systems so your browsing habits are safe.

Demographic information

Using the aforementioned Google advertising, we also use your tracking information to access information about the demographic of our website visitors. This information isn't personally identifiable, what it does mean is that we are able to determine the age groups and genders that visit our website and tie that in with other information such as what products they look at and how long they spend on the website. This is super useful to us because it means we can better target our website and advertising to people who are actually interested in our products.

Your data

We won't ever sell your data, or rent it, or loan it, or even let someone outside the company take a look. You've given us your data in trust, and we won't violate that trust, we'll keep it very safe and treat it as if it were our own information. The only time your data will leave our systems is when we use it with our marketing systems to send our email communications and the such, and this data never leaves our sight and is kept securely.

Ultimately this data is your data, as per the Data Protection Act (1998) you can request a copy of all the data we hold about you, just email support and we'll send it over to you.

There is only one situation where the above promise won't apply and that is if we are forced to release your data by a court of law, or when we receive a reasonable request for your data from a law enforcement agency in relation to an active investigation. In this situation we may or may not inform you of such a release of your data.

Cookies are essential to not only the functioning of our website, but also the functioning of our staff.
